Will Track Record Fall on Saturday?

Photo by TJ Harron PhotographyAfter Nick Panitzke turned a lap of 17.388 and followed it up later in the evening with a lap of 17.380 (103.567 mph) it became clear that the Super Late Model track record of 17.413 set by Andrew Morrissey just might be in jeopardy.  Other drivers turning in quick laps were Nathan Haseleu with a lap of 17.522 while Jeremy Miller’s quickest circuit was 17.573.

Last week Jeff Storm was fastest in practice with a 17.492 followed by Chris Wimmer with a trip of 17.505.

Of course, a track record at MIS must be set in qualifying and we will have to wait until shortly after 1:00 PM on Saturday to see if Morrissey’s record will fall.

Come out to MIS on Saturday to see the ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models and Madison Late Models on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile.
