Wheel Wells Weekly

Week of April 9, 2012

Welcome to our first edition of our website blog entitled Wheel Wells Weekly.  Our goal is to provide you with a closer look at what’s happening at your favorite track.

 Here’s what’s happening at Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile…

It’s less than a month away to our season opener on May 6th and even shorter to our first practice date on April 28th.  It’s going to be a great year at MIS so tell your friends.

Just want to let everyone know that Jason Tyler is doing a great job in his first year as Business / Marketing Manager.  It is great to see old and new sponsors return to MIS.  If you want to be part of the action at MIS give him a call at 608.513.9709.

I sat with Jason one day and asked him about how he thought things were going so far.  Here’s what he told me:  “I have been very busy and things are going great.  I am very excited to get the season started, but we still have a lot of work to do before opening day.”

We are very excited about our six super late model events in 2012 including the two ASA Midwest Tour events that will include Ross Kenseth.  A great group of super late drivers will also be on hand for our three Triple Crown events.

A big thank you goes out to TJ Harron for all of his work during the off season.  Remember to purchase the outstanding photos that TJ takes each week at MIS.

Special thanks go out to Chuck Garetson, Skolaski Brothers Racing, Wendt’s Racing, Kyle Vergata, Rich Bickle Jr. and all the others who helped out at our appearances at the Kids Expo and the Auto Show in Madison.

Remember to catch NASCAR action on the Big 1070 in Madison proudly sponsored by Madison International Speedway.

A brand new Rainbow Play Systems playground is being installed for the Quest Industrial Turn One Kids Club.  The playground will be located just east of the VIP Pavilion.  The family section will also be relocated directly in front of the new playground so parents can easily monitor their children while watching the racing action.

Rick’s Lawn and Garden Service of Stoughton is returning to MIS as the Victory Lane sponsor in 2012.  Victory Lane will take on an entirely new look for the upcoming season.

Several maintenance projects are taking place around MIS this spring including tree removal, wall painting, lawn work, and more.  It’s a feverish pace around here getting ready for the season opener.

MIS will be taking a very active role in the Racing Roundup Show this season as it comes to the airwaves in Madison on the Big 1070.  Originating live from Paulie’s Pub in West Allis, the show will air from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday nights in Madison and from 6:00 – 7:30 PM in the Milwaukee area.  Hear Jason Tyler, Dave Grueneberg and Andrew Morrissey this Tuesday night talk about the season opener.

Get well wishes go out to one of my favorite drivers at MIS, Tim Narr.  Tim is the driver of the #49 Legends cars and truly one of the good guys in racing.  He recently underwent eye surgery and his status for the 2012 racing season is uncertain at this time.

Our three weekly divisional sponsors all return for the 2012.  A big thanks to Rockweiler Insulation who will be sponsoring the Late Models, Ho Chunk Gaming of Madison for the Sportsman, and Pellitteri Waste Systems for Legends.

Some of our other partners include Monte’s Pub and Grill in Verona, Capital City Harley Davidson of Madison, Morrison’s Auto of Edgerton, TD Graphics, Wisconsin Lottery, Midwest Family Broadcasting, Clear Channel, Unified Newspaper Group, Hometown News Group, ESPN Radio 100.5, TD Automotive, Radio Shack of Stoughton, Ferrell Gas and WKOW TV Channel 27.

Welcome back Jake Roth who will be doing his videos again this season.
