Weekly Racing Begins this Friday Night at Madison

It’s Friday night under the lights this week at Madison for the 2026 Weekly Racing Season Opener. Four exciting divisions will all be racing double features including the Late Models, Dave’s White Rock MISfitz, Roto Rooter 6Shooters plus the visiting Hobby Stocks. It’s also $2 Busch Light Night at the speedway.

Many new drivers will be joining our talented group of weekly stars in 2026 in what will certainly be a tight points race throughout the season for the weekly divisions.

There have been more than sixty opening nights / days here on Sunrise Road dating back to 1952 when the Oregon Legion Speedway opened and continuing with Capital Speedway, Capital Super Speedway, IMPACT Speedway, and Madison International Speedway.

This week only Rock County residents can receive $10 adult admission with proof of residency.

Prices: $18 for Adults / $15 for Seniors 62+ and Heroes / $10 for Students (12-17) / $5 for Kids 6-11 / $40 for a Family Ticket which includes admission for up to two adults and four students / kids. Special bonus for residents of Illinois and Rock County who are eligible for a $10 adult admission with proof of residency.

Last Year on Opening Night

Shaun Scheel and Zack Riddle each won a Late Model feature last year while Dan Snyder swept the MISfitz, Dylan Klinger and Jacob Mathison shared the wins in the Roto Rooter 6Shooters while Waylon Robinson and Shane Strothman each took home wins in the Hobby Stocks.

Looking Back at May 3rd

Austin Nason won the Joe Shear Classic and picked up $15,000 for his efforts before a large and enthusiastic crowd on a perfect day for racing. Tristan Swanson won the 36 lap feature for the Midwest Truck Series.

Upcoming Events in May

May 14th: The May edition of the One on One Street Drags is under the lights this Thursday night. Pit gates and grandstands open at 6:00 with practice and grudge matches beginning at 6:30 and the first of more than twenty brackets at 7:30.

May 22nd: The Big 8 Late Models are back at Madison for their first of two races in 2026. Joining the Big 8 cars will be the 602 Late Models plus Legends and Bandoleros. The first 500 kids will receive a free Hot Wheels diecast.

May 29th: It’s Dr. Pepper 2 for 1 Night with Double Features for the Late Models, MISfitz, 6Shooters plus the visiting Bandits. 2 for 1 admission available with a coupon. Stay tuned for a list of businesses where you can pick up your coupon.
