Turn on the lights…it’s time to go racing this Friday night! Weekly racing returns to Madison with double features for the Late Models, Dave’s White Rock MISfitz, Roto Rooter 6Shooters, and the visiting four cylinders of the Midwest Dash Series. All four divisions will be competing in double features. Each Late Model feature will pay the winner $1000 as will be the case all season long for the division. A competitive field of talented drivers will be making their way to Sunrise Road this Friday night all with the goal of taking home a checkered flag.
To make the night for our fans even better it’s also $2.00 Busch Light Night for those 21 and over.
Last year’s track champions were Zack Riddle (Late Models) and Dave Edwards (Dave’s White Rock MISfitz). Riddle enters this season with 33 career Madison wins in the division and has won back to back to back titles and has a total of five overall. Edwards won the first MISfitz championship back in 2019.. This will be the first season the Roto Rooter 6Shooters will be racing for points and competing for a track championship.
In 2023, Zack Riddle swept both features on opening night which was delayed to May 26th due to rain while Dave Edwards and Tanner Berge each took home a MISfitz checkered flag. Dylan Klinger and Josh Morris were the winners in the 6Shooters on their opening night. Karter Stark won last season’s Midwest Dash race on the half-mile and set a new track record in qualifying.
Weekly racing season openers on the pavement go back to June 21, 1963 when Eddie Hume won the Stock Car race on the original quarter mile. Racing actually began at this location during the summer of 1952 when it was a dirt track known as Oregon Legion Speedway.
