Last Week at Madison
The USAC Silver Crown cars returned to Madison with Dakoda Armstrong picking up his first win in the Bytec Inc. Dairyland 100. Armstrong led the final twelve laps after CJ Leary set the pace for the first eighty-eight laps before a flat left rear tire forced him to the pits. For the fourth time in five races at Madison, Bobby Santos finished in the runner-up position with Justin Grant finishing third.
Three-time Madison winner Kody Swanson set fast time but mechanical issues forced him to the pits during the race and he had to settle for an 11th place finish.
After setting fast time earlier in the night and starting eleventh, Shaun Scheel held off Zack Riddle to win the 30 lap feature for the Late Models. It was the Lake Mills driver’s fourth career Late Model win at Madison. Bobby Wilberg, Jacob Gille, and Ryan Goldade rounded out the top five.
In the 20 lap main event for the Dave’s White Rock MISfitz, Mason Hellenbrand won for the second time in 2024 edging Evan Leahy, who was making his first start at Madison. Fast qualifier Kenny Storkson finished third. It was Hellenbrand’s eighth career feature win at the speedway.
