Oregon, WI- Despite best efforts by track crews, the current saturation of Madison International Speedway coupled with the weather system currently in Iowa that is predicted to move into the area around race time, has forced the cancellation of tonight’s Howie Lettow Classic presented by Klement’s. The Title Round of the Super Late Model Triple Crown is unable to be rescheduled for the 2016 season. Casey Johnson will be recognized at the Triple Crown Champion, edging out defending Champion Jeremy Miller by just nine points.
“This was a frustrating decision and one that we did not take lightly knowing the history of this event and the Championship on the line.” Stated Speedway owner Gregg McKarns. “Studying the different radars, models, hourly forecasts and every other piece of info we could, it appears the next system will be moving into our area right at race time, not allowing us to even attempt to get the races in tonight.”
Racing action will resume next Friday night, with the recently announced Buck Night in honor of Fan and Driver Appreciation at MIS. The Club LaMark Late Models, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits and American Ethanol Trucks will all be in action.
