The July edition of the One on One Street Drags is this Thursday night as nearly 250 entries are expected to be here to compete on our 300 foot drag strip in twenty different brackets.
Anyone can race with pit passes just $10.00 and entry fees of only $10.00 per bracket. There’s a bracket for just about any motorized vehicle to compete in this double elimination style racing event. Typically there are more than a dozen different brackets with cars meeting specifications eligible to compete in more than one bracket provided a separate entry fee is paid.
Feedback from previous competitors can be summarized in one sentence: “If you’re thinking about doing this come out and do it because it’s a lot of fun.” Fun is definitely what’s it’s all about and for those who want to take it too seriously this probably isn’t the best venue.
There’s also the Shine N Show Contest plus plenty of food and drink.
The monthly street drag events which are held on the second Thursday of each month are becoming more and more popular with those who prefer to just sit back and take in all the action from the grandstands.
Pit gates open at 6:00 with practice and “grudge” racing slated for 6:30 with bracket racing beginning at 7:30 PM. Spectator gates open at 6:30 PM with $10.00 admission for adults and kids eleven and under free.
