Three in a Row for Bobby Wilberg

Driving a Rich Bickle Jr. tribute car, Bobby Wilberg won for the third straight time this season in the 20 lap feature for the 602 Late Models.

Brian Johnson Sr. and Colton Morgan led the field to the green with Johnson Sr. taking the early lead. On lap 3 Wilberg took second from Pete Moore and set his sights on the leader. On lap 5 Wilberg worked his way to the inside of Johnson Sr. to take the lead and check away from the field.

On lap 7 Tom Carlson moved past Johnson Sr. for second with a lot of ground to close if he wanted to catch Wilberg. At the half-way mark, Wilberg’s lead was down to less than 0.1 seconds. With five laps to go, Wilberg’s lead was down to four car lengths, but Carlson drifted up the track which allowed Wilberg to increase his lead. Despite doing everything he could, Carlson wasn’t able to catch Wilberg who raced his way to victory lane. Following Wilberg and Carlson were Ray Hellenbrand, Pete Moore, and Colton Morgan.

Tom Carlson was fastest in qualifying with a lap of 19.041 (94.533 mph). Ray Hellenbrand won the Big Rig Repair Dash while Bobby Wilberg won the heat race.
