Oregon, WI- Thanks to a host of supporting businesses posting bonuses, each and every NASCAR Late Model feature at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ will now pay $1,000 to win. A total of 15 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series features are scheduled during the 2022 Madison International Speedway season with the standard start money set at $240 thanks to a 12% purse increase. Friday night racing is slated to begin on Friday night May 13 at the one-half mile paved high banked oval located south of the Wisconsin State Capitol.
“It all started after a call from Ray (Jager) at Powersource, he wanted to show his support of MIS in honor of his 30th year in business. Then Chris Blair at World Wide Technology Raceway reached out to let fans and drivers know that they continue to support short track racing as Cup rolls into St. Louis for the first time.” Noted Gregg McKarns, whom owns and operates MIS with his wife Angie. “Joe at RPM sent me a text saying he’d like to support this effort as well. At that point, our goal of being able to offer drivers a $1,000 top prize each weekly show was within reach. Chad Wehrs stepped up with support from four of his businesses and Frank from Pit Pay threw his hat in the ring alongside longtime MIS supporters Bobcat of Janesville, Fink’s Paving, Union 464 and Dave’s White Rock.” McKarns encourages everyone to support these businesses such as Scorezit Scorekeepers, which he got as a Father’s Day present last year.
