Temperatures Cooling Off…Ring of Fire Heating Up at Madison

Story Image

Looks like we’re going to get a break from the hot and humid weather this week so that means it’s a perfect time to heat up the “Ring of Fire.” Six divisions will be in action this Friday night as part of the Fourth Annual Cheese Curd Cup presented by Culvers of Oregon.

But it gets even better this week because action gets started on Thursday for the Morrison’s Auto One on One Street Drags on our 300’ drag strip.

Important Note: Highway 51 between McFarland and Stoughton will be closed between Dyreson Road and Schneider Road which are north and south of the 51 / AB intersection. DOT suggests taking the Beltline to Highway 14 to Highway 138.

About Friday Night
This will be the fourth annual Cheese Curd Cup presented by Culvers of Oregon with all of the action on the quarter-mile “Ring of Fire.” The Bandits and Hobby Stocks competed earlier this year while the Legends and Bandoleros will be making their season debut after their event was rained out. The Midwest Dash cars have been here this year but competed on the half-mile. The Roto Rooter 6Shooters will also be in action in a points event.

Last Friday at Madison
A great field of Big 8 / All Star Challenge Late Models were on hand as Michael Bilderback led wire to wire to pick up the win in the 48 lap main event. Thirty- nine cars were on hand to attempt to make the twenty-four car starting field. Seventeen Mid Am Racing cars were here with Ron Vandermeir Jr. taking home top honors after winning the 30 lap feature. Gracie Flanagan picked up her second win at Madison in the High School Racing Association. A big shout out and thank you to Liuna! Local 464 for making Kids’ Night a big success.
