The Super Sunday Spring Street Drags open the 2017 season at Madison International Speedway on April 30th with bracket racing set to begin at 2:00 PM.

The season opener will be the first of six events at Madison in 2017. Future events will move to Thursday nights taking place on May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, and September 14.

There will be more than a dozen different brackets featuring a double elimination style format. Cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, ATVs and more are welcome to compete. Nearly 200 vehicles battled it out on the 300 foot Drag Strip during events last year and those numbers are expected to keep growing. If it has wheels there’s a bracket for it in most cases.

“We really saw a little bit of everything last year from show cars to street legal cars, trucks, motorcycles and much more,” said Madison co-owner Gregg McKarns. “You’ll see “muscle” cars from the 60’s as well as new Corvettes and even a Tesla that raced with us last season.”

There’s even a special high school division for kids who want to come and race with some restrictions.

Cost is affordable with pit passes just $10.00 and entry fees only $10.00 per division. If eligible, vehicles may enter more than one division.

A “Shine N Show” contest will also take place at each event for the best appearing vehicles.

“The bottom line is this is all about having fun in a controlled setting. If someone is too serious about drag racing then this probably isn’t the venue for them,” noted McKarns.

Pit gates for the Super Sunday Spring Street Drags open at Noon with practice and “Grudge” racing beginning at 1:00 PM followed by bracket racing at 2:00. Grandstand admission is just $10.00.
