It’s Round One of the Badgerland Challenge tonight as drivers from both Jefferson and Slinger are headed to Madison. The “Challenge” is a three race program pitting the best drivers from Madison, Jefferson, and Slinger on track to see who is the best and which track can take home the traveling trophy.

Two divisions, Late Models and Sportsman, will be in action tonight at Madison as part of the “Challenge.” Main events will be 30 laps for the Late Models and 20 laps for the Sportsman. The Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits and Roto Rooter 6Shooters will also be in action on the “Ring of Fire” quarter mile.

An impressive group of drivers from Jefferson and Slinger led by multi-time Madison champion Dale Nottestad and last year’s Sportsman winner Jason Thoma are on their way to Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile tonight to take on our great weekly drivers led by current point leaders Bobby Wilberg (Club LaMark NASCAR Late Models) and defending track champion Zack Riddle and Robert Hansberry Jr. (Dave’s White Rock Sportsman) and last year’s track champion Ryan Goldade. Not only is this a points event for the “Challenge” but it also counts for weekly championship points at Madison.

Last year’s overall champions were Casey Johnson (Late Models) and Terry Wangsness (Sportsman).

The Badgerland Challenge heads to Slinger on July 17th before going to Jefferson on August 20th.

Who’s the best? Will the Madison drivers be able to defend their home track? Come out to Madison tonight and find out. Pit gates open at 3:30, practice at 5:00, qualifying at 6:15 with racing at 7:30.
