(Oregon, WI) Dan Snyder (Dave’s White Rock MISfitz), Kamren Hill (Midwest Dash Series), and Kennedy Krueger (Finishline Towing High School Racing Association) all took home feature wins as part of Pellitteri Waste Systems Night at Madison.
But the biggest winners were the fans who were entertained by a pair of monster trucks, BigFoot and BearFoot, during the night while the kids were able to come down to the track at intermission for a $1000 Coin Scramble sponsored by One Community Bank.
Dan Snyder Wins His Fourth of the Season at Madison
Snyder won the 20 lap feature for the Dave’s White Rock MISfitz giving him four wins in five starts for the season. He now has eight career wins in the division and nineteen overall at Madison.
Wyatt Kraiss and Rick Coppernoll paced the field to the green flag. Before a lap could be completed the two made contact coming out of turn four bringing out the caution flag and sending both to the rear of the field.
Now it was Kenny Storkson and Tim Wondrash who brought the field to the green flag. Storkson jumped out to the lead with Kevin Anderson quickly up to second. Anderson was able to take the lead on lap four with Storkson only inches behind. Closely behind the leaders were Dan Snyder and Tim Wondrash.
A backstretch incident on lap 7 involving the leaders brought out the caution flag sending both Anderson and Storkson to the rear of the field.
Snyder brought the field back to the green flag followed by Wondrash and Coppernoll. Coppernoll took second on lap 10 with Storkson back to third. Out front Snyder’s lead with four lengths over Coppernoll. On lap 13 the two were side by side with Coppernoll on the inside and Snyder hanging tough on the outside with Storkson on the outside looking in. Snyder was able to increase his lead and pick up the win with Coppernoll, Storkson, Anderson, and Wondrash completing the top five.
“It’s a different strategy in this division,“ said Snyder referring to the unique break out rule.
Wyatt Kraiss and Dan Snyder won the 8 lap heat races.
Fast qualifier was Kevin AJ Anderson with a lap of 19.936 (90.289 mph).
Kamren Hill Holds Off Karter Stark for Midwest Dash Win
Hill picked up his first-ever win at Madison by taking the checkered flag in the 20 lap feature for the Midwest Dash Series.
Al Strobel and Steve Dickson had the honors of bringing the field to the green flag. Strobel jumped out to the early lead with Phil Malouf and Justin Schelitzche up to challenge on lap 2 with Schelitzche taking the lead over Malouf coming out of turn two. Tim Anderson was running third with Kamren Hill and Karter Stark in the top five.
On lap 5 Malouf and Schelitzche were side by side for the lead followed by Hill and Stark. At the halfway mark you could throw a blanket over the top five with Hill able to take the lead on lap 11. Malouf and Stark were battling it out for second behind him which allowed Hill to increase his lead to four car lengths.
But Stark was on the move as he worked to the outside of Hill coming out of turn four on lap 14 to challenge for the lead. The two raced side by side with Hill on the inside and Stark on the outside. On lap 16 Stark gained the advantage coming out of turn two, but Hill was not about to let him out of his sights and pulled back to the inside before both cars drifted up the track coming out of turn two allowing Mark English to join the top three.
Hill was able to maintain his lead and held off Stark for the win. Rounding out the top five were English, Malouf, and Justin Pearson.
“It was a very good night for us,” said Hill from victory lane.
Winners in the 8 lap heat races were Travis Hill and Kamren Hill.
Mark Dewey set fast time in qualifying with a lap of 21.237 (84.758 mph).
Kennedy Krueger Back in Victory Lane at Madison
Defending champion Kennedy Krueger won the 15 lap feature for the High School Racing Association. He now has four career wins at Madison.
Xander Weeks and Colin McKeown brought the three car field to the green flag with the two racing side by side. McKeown took the lead on lap 3 with Krueger going to the outside of him. The two fought for the lead with McKeown holding the top spot until lap 9 when he drifted up the track which allowed Krueger to dive to the inside and take the lead.
Competing in his first HSRA event, McKeown gave it his best shot to get the lead back, but Krueger wasn’t going to let that happen as he raced to victory lane.
The 8 lap heat race was won by Krueger.
