It’s an annual tradition at Madison and easily one of the most anticipated events on the racing schedule and it’s coming up this Friday night.

On Friday, June 25th, the skies above the speedway will rock and roll and light up as Spielbauer Fireworks presents the Area’s Biggest and Best Aerial and Ground Fireworks display as part of Salute to America Night. On track the USAC Silver Crown Series Bytec Inc. Dairyland 100, Midwest Dash, and 602 Late Models will provide exciting racing action.

It’s a Can’t Miss event so plan to arrive early for the best seats as the fireworks will light up the sky directly overhead. Bring the kids, bring your friends and enjoy this awesome combination of pyrotechnics and racing.

This will be the third appearance of the high flying, open wheel USAC Silver Crown Series who competes on both dirt and paved tracks around the country. Madison will be the third event on the 2021 schedule after stops at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis and Williams Grove Speedway in Pennsylvania. Shane Cottle is the current points leader. The series will travel from Madison to Eldora in Ohio for a Saturday night race on dirt.

Kody Swanson, who competed in the Joe Shear Classic back in May, has won the two previous Bytec Inc. Dairyland 100 events at Madison topping a field of nineteen cars in 2018 and twenty-one cars in 2019. Swanson will be going for the trifecta this year and already has one win to his credit this season after taking home the checkered flag at Lucas Oil Raceway. The track record was set by Justin Grant in 2018 with a lap of 16.870 (106.97 mph).

Local driver, David Byrne of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, will be in action at Madison. Byrne started his season with a solid third place finish in the opener at Lucas Oil Raceway and is currently fourth in points. He also is credited with recording the fastest lap ever at Madison with a trip of 14.624 (123.09 mph) set back in May of 2016 while driving a winged sprint car.
