Oregon, WI- Ryan Goldade became the fifth different winner at Madison this season by holding off Riley Stenjem in the 30 lap feature. It was his seventh career Late Model win here and his 21st overall at Madison.
Carson Phillips and Weston Marthaler paced the field of twenty MIS Late Models to the green flag. Phillips took the early lead with Landry Potter up to second after the first lap. Ryan Goldade passed Potter for the second position on lap 2. Goldade took the lead on lap 4 with Phillips hanging on to second with Shaun Scheel and Bobby Wilberg up to third and fourth.
Goldade continued to lead by five car lengths as the top four started to pull away from the pack. The caution flag came out on lap 10 for a spin in turn two. Goldade brought the field back to the green in single file fashion and jumped out to a three car length lead over Phillips. Riley Stenjem passed Wilberg on lap 14 to take the fourth spot with the top three of Goldade, Phillips, and Scheel sailing away out front.
With ten laps to go Goldade’s lead over Phillips was up to five car lengths, but with two laps to go lapped traffic slowed down Goldade which allowed Phillips to cut into his lead. Phillips was within striking distance on the final lap and gave it his best shot, but Goldade was just too quick and held him off for the win. Scheel, Stenjem, and Wilberg rounded out the top five.
Riley Stenjem set fast time with a lap of 18.808 (95.704 mph)
