Racing Tonight at MIS

Come to Madison International Speedway tonight for the Bob Schmelzer Memorial Season Championships with track champions crowned in all three weekly divisions.  Bob was involved in the local racing scene for over 50 years before passing away last August at the age of 83.

Tonight will also feature bike giveaways for the kids plus bus rides around Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile compliments of Wayne Ace Bus and Limo Service.  The rides will be for both kids and adults.

Dale Nottestad (Rockweiler Insulation Late Models), Robert Hansberry Jr. (Ho Chunk Gaming Madison Sportsman), and Andy Jones (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends) are the current point leaders going into tonight’s race.  Nottestad also leads the Morrison’s Auto Parts Dash Series.

Pit gates open at 3:30 with grandstands opening at 4:30.  Practice begins at 4:45 with qualifying at 6:15 and racing to follow.  Happy Hour drink specials will be from 5:00 – 6:30.

Tonight will also be a fund raiser for the American Red Cross.

Come out to MIS and see the final night of weekly racing for the 2012 season.

Just a reminder that the ARCA Racing Series by Menards will be here next weekend (August 25-26) for the Herr’s Live Life with Flavor 200 (tickets on sale at MIS or 19 area Menards stores).

ThunderCat Fireworks will be here on Friday, August 31st for our annual Fireworks Extravaganza.  It will also be Round 3 of the Super Late Model Triple Crown Challenge and an appearance by the Mid American Stock Car Series.
