Story Image

It’s Pomp’s Tire Back to School Night this Friday at MIS with all children eleven and under admitted free.

Four divisions of racing are on tap with the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Models, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits, and Legends.

See the Bus Jump…Highlighting the night will be our first annual School Bus Jump. You’ve probably noticed the bus parked at Highway 138 and Sunrise Road, but this Friday it will be one of the stars of the show …don’t miss it!

Once again we encourage all of you to come to the pits after the races and meet the drivers, get autographs, etc. Kids should also sign up for exciting prizes at the Turn Four Kids’ Club and stop by DJ’s to play the “Spin to Win” game.

Friday Night Rewind

Congratulations to feature winners Rusty Hansen, Robert Hansberry, Dan Snyder, and Ray Sleeder.

Rusty Hansen not only picked up his first feature win of the season in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Models, but it was also his first-ever win at Madison as he held off Zack Riddle to win the 30 lap main event.

Two-time track champion Robert Hansberry won the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman by holding off Ryan Goldade. The two have battled it out all year with Goldade getting the upper hand until this past Friday night. It was Hansberry’s fifth career win at Madison.

Defending champion Dan Snyder was back in victory lane in the Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits. One week after an incident took him out of the race on the first lap, the Stoughton driver was not to be denied. It was Snyder’s tenth feature win at Madison placing him second overall in the all-time Bandit wins.

A season high eight Roto Rooter 6Shooters battled it out on the Ring of Fire with Ray Sleeder of Madison getting the win in their twelve lap feature. Point standings are not maintained for the 6Shooter division.

Hall of Fame Class of 2015

It’s time now to nominate individuals for our next class of the MIS Hall of Fame. The nominations will remain open until August 21st with winners announced on September 4th.

Here is the link to make your nomination: misracing.com/mis-hall-of-fame-nomination-form/

There are so many worthy individuals for the Hall of Fame we are really looking for your suggestions. Remember it can be drivers, owners / promoters, track officials, car owners, etc. Our website does have listing of past track champions and all-time feature winners. However, the information is far from complete as we have very little from support divisions in the seventies and eighties and not many records prior to 1969. This is where we need your help.
