We are looking forward to many visiting drivers coming to Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile for this first annual event. The Bandits will also be in action on the “Ring of Fire.”

Salute to America / Fireworks Night Coming on June 26th
The area’s biggest and best ground and aerial fireworks returns to Madison on June 26th. The Big 8 Late Models will be here for a 48 lap feature plus the Great Northern Sportsman Series and the DASH Series (4 cylinders on the half-mile) will be in action.
Sam Bartus, the man who built the half-mile at Madison in 1969 and owned and operated the track for many years, passed away on Sunday at the age of 93. Bartus is a member of our first Hall of Fame class, and recently returned to MIS for the season opener with his friend Phil Bickley. Bartus was involved in many tracks in the upper Midwest and much of what we enjoy today can be traced back to his vision for local racing.
