Track Clean Up Day Set for April 18th
Fans are invited out to the track this Saturday for the first annual “Track Clean Up Day.” Let’s work together to make general improvements to make everyone’s experience at the speedway a great one in 2015.
“We just have some little projects to accomplish around the track, mending a few fences, painting some walls, some wood work and the like. I know there are many talented people that support this track and we would like to have them help out. It is kinda like the fans helping shovel in Green Bay every winter, but we should be warmer and enjoy a little food and drink afterwards.” stated Speedway owner Angie McKarns.
Supplies needed include shovels, drills, saws, paint rollers, paint brushes, rakes, plants / flowers, and anything that will help spruce up the buildings and grounds.
$15,000 Point Fund at MIS this Season
Drivers in the Whelen All American Late Model, Sportsman, and Bandit divisions will have an opportunity to be part of a season point fund of $15,000. Late model drivers will share a $10,000 point fund with Sportsman taking home $3000 and Bandit drivers sharing $2000. All of this is possible because Madison has become a NASCAR Home Track starting this year. The point fund will certainly be among the best in the region.
Cash and Scholarship Opportunities for Young Drivers
One lucky driver will take home $500 plus a $500 scholarship to the University of Northwestern Ohio for their efforts at MIS in 2015. The one driver who earns the most points in any of the three weekly divisions and is 14-17 years old will claim the top prize.
Budweiser Joins the Team at MIS
Fans will notice many positive changes at Madison this season. Some on the track, and some in the stands.
Budweiser / Wisconsin Distributing has become the official beer of MIS. “We are proud to support those that choose to support the future of short track auto racing,” said Gregg McKarns.
As we always say at MIS, support those who support local racing and local racers.
Ring of Fire Comes Alive with Bandits…
The challenging “Ring of Fire” quarter mile at Madison will come alive in 2015 with Four Cylinder Bandit action. Although the numbers in 2014 were a little low at times, the action on the track was never short of exciting.
And this season there’s even more reasons why area drivers should bring their Bandit to Madison and run it weekly.
Besides a point fund of at least $2000, the weekly payout will find the winner taking home $200 in what will no doubt be one of the best weekly purses for Bandit drivers anywhere in this part of the country.
That’s all for this week…more updates and exciting information coming!
