(Oregon, WI) – 22 Drivers from 4 states are ready to battle for 100 laps at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ this Friday July 24th for the Bytec Cheeseland Howie Lettow Classic. The Entry List features former Champions, Past Event Winners and several talented newcomers.
Leading the field is four time ASA Midwest Tour Champion Casey Johnson. Johnson is a three-time winner of the Howie Lettow Classic and a two-time winner of the Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway. He also enters Friday night’s event fresh off his victory in the prestigious Slinger Nationals and is coming off a dominant performance at Madison in June, where he swept both Fast Cars and Freedom 76 features.
Austin Nason returns to Madison International Speedway as a former Howie Lettow Classic winner and two time Joe Shear Classic champion. His accomplishments extend well beyond Madison, as he is also a Father’s Day 100 winner at the Milwaukee Mile, an All Star 100 winner at Rockford Speedway, and a Wayne Carter Classic champion at Grundy County Speedway.
Luke Fenhaus is always a driver to watch whenever the stakes are high. The Wisconsin standout has a proven track record including victories in the Gandrud Auto Group 250 at Wisconsin International Raceway and the prestigious Slinger Nationals. Fenhaus has also found plenty of success at Madison International Speedway, sweeping the Capital 100 Twin 50s in 2023. He’ll once again be one of the favorites when the green flag drops on the Bytec Cheeseland Howie Lettow Classic.
Whenever there’s a marquee Super Late Model event, Gabe Sommers is usually in the mix. The two time ASA Midwest Tour Champion is a former winner of the Oktoberfest 200, Larry Detjens Memorial, two Jim Sauter Classics, and two Hawkeye 100s. Sommers will look to continue that success Friday night as he chases his first Howie Lettow Classic victory at Madison International Speedway.
Joining the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA Midwest Tour will be the Midwest Truck Series, which returns to Madison International Speedway for the Hougan Farms Howie Lettow Classic 30. Defending race winner James Swan enters the weekend with momentum after winning the Prelude to the Nationals at Slinger Super Speedway, while Tristan Swanson, winner of the Midwest Truck Series’ May stop at Madison, will also be among the contenders.
Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m., while the grandstands open and practice begins at 4:00 p.m. Qualifying is scheduled for 6:15 p.m., with the first green flag set to wave at 7:30 p.m. Joining the ASA Midwest Tour on the evening’s racing card will be the always exciting Midwest Truck Series.
