(Oregon, WI) –Race fans will be able to see and have their picture taken with the Mark Martin #6 Valvoline NASCAR Winston Cup car on Sunday afternoon May 4 during the Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway. The event will feature the ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ASA Midwest Tour in a 200-lap, $15,000 to win feature and the Midwest Truck Series 36-lap feature event. NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Mark Martin has been named the grand marshal of the event.
Martin will be signing autographs for general admission ticket holders from 11am until 1pm in addition to Grand Marshal activities. Spectator gates will open at 10:30am, qualifying begins at 12:45pm with racing beginning at 2pm. The historic Valvoline car is being presented for display by owner Charlie Schwock.
Martin has five wins at Madison International Speedway (formerly Capital Super Speedway) including wins in the ARTGO Challenge Series and the ASA National Tour.
