Oregon, WI- In the first of many announcements expected from Madison International Speedway this month, the track released that the Late Model division will utilize the Hoosier D-800 tire for the 2019 race season. This will align the tire at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ with the majority of the tracks that utilize Big 8 Series rules.

“I have nothing but respect for Troy Boubin and the folks at American Racer, they have been great to work with over the past four seasons.” Stated Gregg McKarns, who along with his wife Angie own and operate MIS. “With what we have seen, we believe that switching to the Hoosier D-800 is a move in the right direction for weekly racing in our region.”

Other than the change of tire, which will still utilize an eight inch racing wheel, no major changes are expected in the Late Model rules which will be finalized and released by the end of November. Friday night racing action will begin at Madison International Speedway on Friday May 17, 2019. For additional information visit www.misracing.com or call 608-835-9700.
