Fans and Teams are invited out to the Madison International Speedway on Saturday April 23 for the annual “Track Clean-Up Day” from 8am until 2pm. 2021 saw over 30 people work together to make general improvements to ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’. In addition to the Clean-Up, drivers will take to the track for the first time in the 2022 calendar year, during an open practice session.

“We started this as we prepared for our first season at MIS in 2015.” Reflected Madison International Speedway owner Angie McKarns. “Everyone that has pitched in over the years has been a huge help and can take pride knowing that they helped their local short track.” Those planning to help are encouraged to wear sun screen and are welcome to bring any tools they feel may help the effort including drills, hammers, shovels and rakes. Projects this season include painting of buildings, fixing seating areas and general construction. Water and food will be provided for all helpers.

Returning this year is the open practice from 1pm until 4pm on Saturday. This will be the first time that cars will be on the track this season. As a sign of appreciation for their efforts, any team arriving by 10am to help with the track clean-up day will be given FREE track time and pit admission for the day. Teams unable to help can still practice but will be subject to the $20 member and $25 non-member pit admission fees.
