Look at the Changes at MIS

It’s a Collaborative Effort at MIS

2012 Season Takes Shape

With the 2012 racing season at Madison International Speedway less than two weeks away, the activity around the track in the days leading up to the waving of the first green flag has been fast-paced.

“We are working very hard to get things ready for the season opener,” said MIS business / marketing manager Jason Tyler.  “A lot of people have come together to help us make MIS a first class facility.  I’m excited about what we have done so far and about the things we still need to get done.”

 So what’s been happening?

The fencing around the track has been fixed, trees have been trimmed or cut down along the backstretch, and the billboards have been updated, repaired, or replaced.

The inside wall of the “Ring of Fire” has been reconfigured to allow for a much nicer victory lane.  Rick’s Lawn and Garden along with Winterland Nursery will be the victory lane sponsor.  They will be taking care of the grounds maintenance, flowers, and dressing up victory lane.

Walls and buildings have been power-washed by Tim Gust of J&B Superior Wash and painted thanks to Sherwin Williams who provided us with paint and stain.

Rainbow Play Systems will be installing a brand new play area for the kids that will be located near the VIP pavilion.  The family section will also be located near the play system.  “The relocation of the play area and family section will allow the parents to easily watch their kids,” said Tyler.

Fans will also be greeted by a brand new sound system being installed by Brian Danielson of Danielson’s Entertainment.

The new track store will feature new merchandise along with new paint and flooring.  Viking Party Store has brought in some really cool light up things and there will be new apparel from TD Graphics.

There will be more changes taking place once the season begins in May.

“This isn’t the work of just one or two people.  This is the result of many, many people coming together because they want to see MIS be the best we can possibly be,” added Tyler.

Don’t just take our word for it…come and see it for yourself starting on May 6th.
