It’s the Badgerland Challenge and Kids’ Night this Friday at MIS

This Friday night will be the inaugural event for the Badgerland Challenge, a three race series for Late Models and Sportsman that includes Madison, Jefferson, and Slinger. Fans can expect to see many visiting drivers from the other two tracks come to take on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile. The Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits and Roto Rooter 6shooters will also be in action. The Late Models and Sportsman races will be for MIS points in addition to Badgerland Challenge points.

Pellitteri Waste Systems is presenting Kids’ Night with all children eleven and under admitted free. During intermission the kids will be invited down to the track for a $1000 coin scramble. The Quest Industrial Turn Four Kids’ Club will also have giveaways during the night.

Four weeks have been completed in the weekly racing season. Jeremy Miller leads the way in the Late Models with 329 points with Dale Nottestad in second with 313 and Zack Riddle third with 294. Kevin Knuese (249) and Bobby Wilberg (248) round out the top five. Dan Snyder is the Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits leader with 356 points followed by Brandon DeLacy (324), Nick Schmidt (314), David Schmidt (289) and Steve Dickson (267). Fueled by four wins, Ryan Goldade leads the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman with 474 points with Robert Hansberry in second with 424.

Riddle leads the First Supply Dash standings for the Late Models while Nick Schmidt has the top spot for the Bandits. Hansberry has a one point lead over Goldade in the Sportsman.

Late Model and Sportsman drivers that are not current NASCAR Members will be provided a 15 day License at NO CHARGE for this event

Madison Points
Yes, this is a point awarding event, ALL competitors will be awarded Madison International Speedway points based on the 2015 MIS Point Table.

Transponders
All cars are required to run a transponder. Transponders are available for rent at the pit gate for $15.

Raceceivers/Scanner
All teams are required to monitor race control via a Raceceiver or scanner.

Badgerland Points
Badgerland Challenge Points will be awarded and kept separate from host track points, the method will be 10 points for Fast qualifier, minus one point per position with a minimum of one point for each qualified driver. Heat races will pay 6 points to winner, minus one point per position, minimum of one point for each competing driver. Feature will pay 50 points to win, minus 2 points per position, minimum 8 points per feature starting driver. Points will be awarded to the driver, not the car.

Tires
Late Models- A minimum of 2 used (max tread depth of 4/32”) must be presented prior to practice on June 19 for approval and marking. Weekly Madison drivers must present two tires from their bank that meet above requirements for June 19. Likewise, Madison weekly drivers will be allowed two new tires to be placed into their bank for this event instead of the standard one tire.

Sportsman- A minimum of 3 used (max tread depth of 4/32”) must be presented prior to practice on June 19 for approval and marking. Weekly Madison drivers must present three tires from their bank that meet above requirements for June 19. Likewise, Madison weekly drivers will be allowed one new tire to be placed into their bank for this event instead of the standard one tire every other week.

Sportsman Rules
Teams utilizing the Jefferson Speedway directional vane rotor rule will be allowed to run without weight penalty for this item.

Last Week in Review

The combination of heavy rainfall over night and persistent light rain during the day forced us to cancel last Friday night’s racing program. We are working to reschedule the Oregon Chamber of Commerce Night.

Salute to America Night is June 26th

Fireworks are back at MIS on Friday, June 26th with the area’s biggest and best aerial and ground display that is all part of Salute to America Night. You have to see it to believe it…arrive early because seats fill up quickly.

Highlighting the racing program will be the Big 8 Late Models in a 48 lap feature. The Great Northern Sportsman Series will make the first of their two appearances and the DASH Series for four cylinder cars will also be on the half-mile.

The exciting combination of great racing and awesome fireworks is guaranteed to make this one of the biggest nights of the year at MIS.

Round Two of Triple Crown Challenge is July 10th

The Super Late Models return on Friday, July 10th for the second leg of the Triple Crown Challenge. Ty Majeski was victorious in the first round topping a field of twenty-five cars. Expect another stellar field of cars to be here to battle it out for the checkered flag.
