It’s a Doubleheader of Action at MIS This Weekend

Something for Everyone at MIS This Weekend

Racing, Tractor and Truck Pulling on Tap

By John Wells

It is going to be a huge weekend of action at Madison International Speedway this weekend with exciting weekly racing on Friday and tractor and truck pulling on Saturday night.

Start your weekend off right on Friday night with Ladies Night at the Races.  All ladies will be admitted free of charge plus Dane County residents will receive $3.00 off regular admission.

Highlighting Ladies Night at the Races will be a visit by Ashley of 93.1 JAMZ in Madison who will be hosting a special VIP party.

The evening will also feature the first “Happy Hour” of the season with fans receiving $1.00 off beverages between 5:00 and 6:30.

All three weekly divisions will be in action including the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models, Ho Chunk Gaming Madison Sportsman, and the Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends.  Last weekend’s feature winners Johnny Baumeister Jr., Robert Hansberry Jr., and Andy Jones will be here trying to win for the second straight week.

There will be something for the kids too as well with a Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull and other contests planned for the Quest Industrial Turn One Kids’ Club.

Pit gates open at 3:30, practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:15 with racing to follow.

The action on Saturday night will feature the Badger State Tractor Pullers and the Tri County Mini-Rods along with a spectator gas and diesel truck pull on the pulling surface inside the “Ring of Fire.”

Highlighting the action will be the Badger State Tractor Pullers.  Three classes will take to the clay surface inside the “Ring of Fire” including Super Farm Tractor, 466 Hot Farm Tractor, and 4×4 Pro Street Diesel trucks.

Super Farm Tractor and 466 Hot Farm Tractor are two of Badger State’s most popular pulling divisions.   These are the “Smokers” that will get your heart beating as they take the line to pull the sled.

In the 4×4 Pro Street Diesel Truck division these 1000 horsepower four wheel drive trucks weigh in at 8000 pounds with a 35 inch tall street legal tire.  The truck must have an original equipped engine from the factory in a one ton or smaller pickup truck.

The Tri County Pullers Inc. Mini Rods will be part of the program with their Open Mod, Econo Mod, and Limited Mod classes pulling.

Two spectator truck classes will also be on the card with an open street legal 4×4 gas and open street legal 4×4 diesel divisions.  Participants in this division must have proof of insurance and registration.  There will be a limit of 15 trucks in each division.  Entry fee for the spectator truck pull is just $20.00.

General admission tickets for this event are just $10.00 for adults.  The gates will open at 4:00 PM with the first pull slated for 5:00 PM.
