It’s the only time this season at Madison where you will get to see both the Super Late Models and NASCAR Late Models under the lights as part of the same racing program. The two divisions along with the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman and Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits all take to the track this Friday night and you won’t want to miss the excitement.

Highlighting the racing program will be the second round of the Super Late Model Triple Crown Challenge with drivers throughout the Midwest coming to take on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile in a 50 lap main event.. Johnny Sauter of DeForest, Wisconsin, picked up the first round win back in June. Sauter has an eight point lead over Austin Nason who has won two ARCA Midwest Tour events already this year including the Joe Shear Classic here in May. Last year’s runner-up Paul Shafer Jr. is currently in third while Casey Johnson and Jason Weinkauf round out the top five. Johnson is a two-time Triple Crown Series champion.

Most of the drivers who were here in June will be back, but expect several new drivers to join us on Friday including multi-time ARCA Midwest Tour champion Ty Majeski who has driven in several NASCAR XFinity Series races this season. The twenty-three year old driver from Seymour, Wisconsin, has three Triple Crown wins at Madison in addition to winning last year’s Joe Shear Classic.

Stay tuned as we update our list of entries as the week progresses.

After three weekly racing events, the NASCAR Late Models have seen three different drivers pick up feature wins. Current points leader John Baumeister Jr. won back on June 22nd and is in search of his first track championship at Madison. He has only a two point advantage over Shaun Scheel who is also seeking his first title at Madison and notched a feature victory earlier this year. Will Rece has been knocking on the door, and it’s only a matter of time before he picks up his first win of the season. The next five in the points are threats to win every time out and include Zack Riddle, Jon Reynolds Jr., Bobby Wilberg, Jeremy Miller and Brent Edmunds. It’s up for grabs in their 30 lap main event this Friday.

The Dave’s White Rock Sportsman had a new winner last time out when Dave Trute held off a stellar field of cars. Robert Hansberry Jr. has set the pace so far, but it’s anybody’s guess as to whom will emerge from the rest of the field. The Racing Hellenbrands (Ray, Gary, and Bryan) currently sit in second, fourth, and fifth respectively. But keep your eyes on Trevor “Magic Shoes” Robinson, Sam Messel, and Mike Taylor.

Battling it out on the “Ring of Fire” will be the Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits. Nick Schmidt is the current points leader followed by Dave Schmidt, Steve Dickson, McKayla Adams, and Lyle Phillips. Nick Schmidt has picked up two checkered flags this season while defending champion Dave Schmidt has one, but keep your eyes on Dickson, Adams, and Phillips as they pursue the checkered flag.

All Super Late Model, Late Model, Sportsman, and Bandit drivers from throughout the region are welcome. Check out all the information you need to know about racing here at misracing.com.
