Hobby Stocks and 602 Late Models Added to July 26 Christmas in July at Madison International

Oregon, WI- Friday Night July 26 will now feature five divisions of racing at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ for just $5 a person when they bring a toy donation for Toys for Tots. Joining the Midwest Trucks, Illini Midgets and Roto Rooter 6shooters will be the Hobby Stocks and for the first time ever the 602 Late Model division will make an appearance at Madison International Speedway.

The Hobby Stock teams will have a chance to run both Friday night July 26 on The Ring of Fire at MIS and Saturday night July 27 at Jefferson Speedway for an overall challenge with a Champion named and all drivers competing both nights getting a share of the specially established challenge fund. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks for Hobby Stock teams, the MIS event will pay $200 to win and $65 to start, no additional licenses are required.

Marking their first visit to MIS will be the 602 Late Model division which originated at Dells Raceway Park. Many 602 Late Models have tried their hand in the new MISfitz division at Madison and July 26 will be the first time as a division here and they will be racing on the half mile. The economy Late Model which utilizes the popular 602 Chevrolet Crate Engine package is in its third season of competition. This event will pay a minimum of $402 to win and $150 to start.

This will mark the second visit of 2019 for the Midwest Truck Series which had 27 trucks at MIS during May’s Joe Shear Classic. Likewise, the Roto Rooter 6shooter division set a new record with 23 entries this June. This event will mark the only visit for the Illini Racing Series open wheeled midgets, Hobby Stocks and 602 Late Models at MIS this season.

All spectators bringing a toy donation for Toys for Tots during Christmas in July on Friday July 26 will be admitted into the races for just $5. Regular general admission prices will also be available with adults $14, Whelen Heroes and Seniors $12, Students 12-17 $8, ages 6-11 $5 and ages 5 and under will be admitted free of charge. Spectator gates will open at 6pm with qualifying beginning at 6:15pm, racing action will get underway at 7:30pm July 26.
