Oregon, WI- Benninger Concrete has created a $500 point fund for drivers participating in the two Hobby Stock events at Madison International Speedway this summer. The first event of the ‘Benninger Concrete Meets Steel Circuit’ will take place on Friday Night May 26 with the finale as part of the Badgerland Challenge Championship night on Friday August 4 when the Hobby Stocks will be joined by the Late Models, Sportsman and Bandits.
The ‘Benninger Concrete Meets Steel’ Champion will win a $200 bonus, with $100, $75, $75 and $50 being rewarded to the second through fifth place overall point earners in the two race Hobby Stock event on the ‘Ring of Fire’. Three and four wide racing is expected when the full size stock cars make their return visit to Madison International Speedway.
“We have only been able to get this class here once since taking over the track, to have them here twice in the same season is great and to have Jon (Benninger) put up the extra money for the drivers is better yet.” Speedway owner Gregg McKarns added. Rules will follow the long standing Jefferson Speedway Hobby Stock rule platform. Each feature event will pay $200 to win and $50 to start in addition to the established point fund.
The 2017 season begins on Sunday afternoon April 30 with the Super Sunday Street Drags plus Shine ‘N Show. The oval track season kicks off the following Sunday, May 7 when the Stars and Cars of the ARCA Midwest Tour, Mid-American Stock Car Series and Midwest Truck Series battle during the Joe Shear Classic 200 presented by SCAG Power Equipment. Weekly Friday night NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing begins on Friday May 19. For additional information visit www.misracing.com or call 608-835-9700.
