Four Track Champions Crowned
Ryan Goldade (Late Models), Brady Liddle (MISfitz), Dylan Klinger (6Shooters), and Jackson Martindale (HSRA) picked up feature wins tonight at Madison as part of Fink’s Paving Season Championship Night.
Rain played a big part in the program as early showers forced the cancellation of qualifying and rain during the second race also caused a lengthy delay forcing track officials to scale back the double features to single features. A big thank you to all who helped dry the track during the evening.
Zack Riddle (Late Models), Dan Snyder (MISfitz), Dylan Klinger (6Shooters), and Kennedy Krueger (HSRA) were crowned 2024 Madison Track Champions. More information in a separate story.
Ryan Goldade Races to Victory Lane
Ryan Goldade held off Zack Riddle to win the 30 lap feature for the Late Models. It was his second win of the season and his sixth career win in the division.
Landry Potter and Jacob Gille showed the way to the green flag. Potter took the early lead with Bobby Wilberg charging up to challenge Potter on the inside. Wilberg took the lead on the second lap followed by Ryan Goldade, Potter, and Gille. A spin on lap 4 brought out the first caution flag.
Wilberg led the field back to green and continued to lead with Goldade a close second and Gille a distant third. On lap 7 Jesse Bernhagen moved up to fourth with Zack Riddle up to fifth. On lap 9 Riddle passed Bernhagen for fourth. On lap 11 Goldade moved to the inside of Wilberg and the two ran side by side before Goldade got the advantage. An incident on the backstretch on lap 12 brought out the caution flag.
Goldade led the field back to green followed by Wilberg, Gille, and Riddle. Shaun Scheel moved into the top five when Bernhagen’s car slowed. Riddle moved past Wilberg for second on lap 17 and started to set his sights on Goldade. Lap by lap Riddle was cutting the margin between himself and Goldade and with five laps to go the lead was down to 0.5 seconds. However, Goldade was able to increase his advantage over Riddle and race his way to victory lane. Riddle finished second followed by Wilberg, Gille, and Scheel.
Mathew Fairburn Jr. won Rookie of the Year honors for the Late Model division.
Brady Liddle Holds Off Brian Ulrich for MISfitz Win
Brady Liddle won the first 20 lap feature for the Dave’s White Rock MISfitz feature. It was his second win in the division this season.
Tim Wondrash and Brian Ulrich led the field to the green flag with Wondrash taking the early lead. On lap 4 Ulrich took over the top spot with Brady Liddle and Dan Snyder up to second and third as the top three started to get away from the field.
At the half-way mark, Liddle was within a car length of Ulrich battling for the lead with Snyder still in third and Kenny Storkson in fourth. On lap 12 Liddle powered by to take the lead and opened up a five length advantage over Ulrich. But Ulrich wasn’t done as he closed the gap to a car length with five laps to go. On lap 17 Ulrich looked to the inside of Liddle to take the lead but could not make the pass.
A lapped car slowed Liddle down on the final lap allowing Ulrich one more shot at the win. But Liddle was able to hold him off and win by 0.117 seconds. Dan Snyder was third followed by Chris Wangrow and Kevin Anderson.
Kenny Storkson was Rookie of the Year for the division.
Dylan Klinger Fights Back for 6Shooter Checkered Flag
After losing the lead late in the race, Dylan Klinger fought back to retake the lead from Trevor Chilson and picked up his fourth win of the season in the 15 lap Roto Rooter 6Shooter feature. As a result, Klinger became the first-ever 6Shooter track champion at Madison.
The field was brought to the green flag by Caleb Richards and Kevin Turner. Dylan Klinger leaped to the front of pack after the first lap before Nolan McNallie was up to challenge on the second lap before a spin brought out the caution flag.
Klinger brought the field back to the green flag with McNallie right there in second followed by Randy Grancorvitz and Trevor Chilson. On lap 5 Chilson moved into third place followed by Ken Morris. Lapped traffic came into play on lap 10 with Klinger and McNallie both able to work their way through traffic
A spin on lap 12 brought out the second caution flag of the race. Once again Klinger led the field back to green followed by McNallie, Chilson, Morris, and Ryan Smith. McNallie and Klinger made contact with two laps to go giving the lead to Chilson. But Kliinger fought back and took back the lead and the win. Chilson was second followed by Smith, Morris, and Jason Morgan in the top five.
Rookie of the Year for the 6Shooters was Nolan McNallie.

Krueger took the third spot and on lap 11 motored by Thompson to take second before the skies opened up, ending the race. Krueger, Thompson, Flanagan, and Xander Weeks rounded out the top five.
