(Oregon, WI) Eight features…eight different winners as the wealth was spread at Madison International Speedway tonight. Those picking up wins included Colton Morgan and Brent Edmunds (Late Models), Dan Snyder and Rick Coppernoll (MISfitz), Dylan Klinger and Ozzie Osborne (6Shooters), and Nick Schmidt and Kyle Riedner (Bandits).
Morgan and Edmunds Top the Late Models
A strong field of twenty-five Late Models was on hand tonight for their twin 30 lap features. In the first feature Colton Morgan of Baraboo started on the pole and led wire to wire holding off Zack Riddle for the win. It was Morgan’s first-ever win at Madison coming in his first appearance of the 2025 season. Shaun Scheel finished third followed by Jake Gille and Michael Bilderback. Rounding out the top ten were Edmunds, Weston Marthaler, Stephen Scheel, Landry Potter, and Blake Nottestad.
Brent Edmunds of Brodhead picked up his first win of the season in the second feature by fending off Michael Bilderback and Shaun Scheel following a late race restart. It was Edmunds’ third career win in the division. Shaun Scheel would finish second ahead of Bilderback with Stephen Scheel and Riddle completing the top five. Earning top ten finishing positions were Bobby Wilberg, Carson Phillips, Mason Hellenbrand, Morgan, and Marthaler.
Earlier in the night, Shaun Scheel set fast time with a lap of 18.679 (96.365 mph)
Victory Lane Belongs to Coppernoll and Snyder in MISfitz
Veteran driver Rick Coppernoll was back in victory lane at Madison by winning the first 20 lap feature for the Dave’s White Rock MISfitz. Coppernoll, the all-time win leader in the division, now has ten victories to his credit. Rookie Kyle Wahlgren picked up his highest finish of the season getting the second position. Dan Snyder, Kevin “AJ” Anderson, and Kenny Storkson added top five finishes.
It was a great battle between Snyder and Storkson in the second feature with Snyder getting the win. Consistency paid off for Wahlgren as he finished second followed by Tim Wondrash, Storkson, and Coppernoll. For Snyder it was his third win in four starts this season giving him seven for his career.
Coppernoll was fast qualifier with a lap of 20.105 (89.530 mph)
6Shooter Wins Go to Klinger and Osborne
Dylan Klinger of Albany was the best of the twenty-one car field in the Roto Rooter 6Shooters in the first 18 lap feature on the “Ring of Fire.” Klinger wasted no time working his way through two and three wide traffic to take the lead and notching his second win of the season. Josh Morris, Matt Crowell, Jason Van Hise, and Dominic Lynch comprised the top five.
Ozzie Osborne held off Van Hise to get the win in the second feature. Finishing behind the top two were Klinger, Randy Grancorvitz, and Jacob Mathison.
Schmidt and Riedner Race to Bandit Wins
In the first of two 2025 appearances at Madison for the Bandits, Nick Schmidt and Kyle Riedner each claimed a checkered flag in the 20 lap features. Schmidt held off Riedner in the first main event with Riedner taking honors in the second feature. Nick Newton, Ryan Oetzel, and Mason Wilcott finished in the top five for the first feature with Wilcott, Oetzel, and Newton also in the top five for feature #2.
Schmidt, the winningest driver ever on the “Ring of Fire” now has twenty-seven wins while for Riedner, an original Madison Bandit, it was his seventh win. Newton was fast qualifier with a lap of 14.923 (60.310 mph)
Next Friday night (June 6th) Big Foot returns to Madison as part of the Monster Truck Showdown which will also include the Dave’s White Rock MISfitz, High School Racing Association (HSRA), plus Midwest Dash along with a $1000 coin scramble presented by One Community Bank. Kids 11 and under are free.
