Drivers Bringing Checkered Flags to Madison this Friday

Five drivers fresh off Late Model feature wins last weekend at area tracks will be amongst a stellar field of Late Model stars racing in Twin 25 lap features this Friday night at Madison International Speedway. Besides action in the NASCAR Late Models, the Dave’s White Rock MISfitz and the Midwest Dash Series are also part of the racing program. All races will take place on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile since the infield will be converted into a viewing area for fans in this first-ever of its kind “Drive In Racing Event.”

So who’s coming to Madison fresh off wins last weekend?

Two time Madison champion Zack Riddle picked up the Late Model win at Dells Raceway Park. Riddle has seventeen career wins at Madison which ties him for fourth in the all-time standings. Riddle’s track championships were in 2015 and 2018. Stephen Scheel, who began racing Bandits at Madison many years ago, won the Late Model feature at the Jefferson Speedway last Saturday night. It was his first win of the 2020 season at Wisconsin’s Action Track. His older brother, Shaun, is the current Late Model point leader and defending Track Champion at Jefferson and will also be here on Friday.

Jacob Goede of Carver, Minnesota, is the defending NASCAR Weekly All American Series National Champion and returns to Madison after getting a Late Model win at Elko Speedway in Minnesota last weekend, where he is a six time defending Track Champion. He also notched a thrilling victory at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway on August 1st. Nick Murgic of Rosemount, Minnesota, who is no stranger to the half-mile at Madison took home the win last Saturday night at LaCrosse, he is the current point leader there. Michael Haggar of Hanover, Minnesota, will be making his first trip to Madison and like the aforementioned drivers comes to town fresh off a win after also winning a feature at Elko Speedway last weekend.

The Dave’s White Rock MISfitz and Midwest Dash Series will also be part of the racing program. One of the most unique racing divisions in the midwest, the MISfitz, featuring all styles of cars, will battle it out in a 25 lap main event. The four cylinder Midwest Dash cars will compete in the 6th annual Badger Cup 25 led by Brandon DeLacy who will try to make it three in a row.

Pit gates open at 2:00 PM with practice beginning at 4:00 PM. Qualifying in all three divisions is set to begin at 6:05 PM with racing action starting at 7:30 PM. Drive-In Parking is $60 per car load in the infield and $120 per car load for Hilltop VIP Parking.
