Drags and Bike Races to Start Your Weekend Right at MIS

Story Image

It’s a twin bill of racing action this week at Madison International Speedway with the August edition of the One on One Street Drags on tap this Thursday and Kids’ Night, a full racing program, and bike racing for the young fans set for Friday night.

Thursday Night Street Drags are Back this Week

Be here this Thursday, August 8th for the One on One Street Drags plus Shine n Show Contest. If you’ve thought about competing you are running out of time as only two events remain in the 2019 street drag season at Madison.

Nearly twenty different brackets make it possible for just about any type of motorized vehicle to compete at a very affordable price. Whether you’re competing or watching, it’s guaranteed to be a night of fun. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Entry fees per bracket are $10.00 with pit passes just $10.00. Grandstand admission is only $10.00. Pits open at 6:00 with practice and “grudge” racing beginning at 6:30 and racing at 7:30.

Come out for a night of fun. Get your friends together and experience the region’s fastest 300 feet.

Kids’ Night is this Friday

The start of a new school year is just around the corner, but it’s not here yet. So be sure to join us this Friday night for Union 464 Kids’ Night.

The night belongs to the young fans as all kids 11 and under will be admitted free. That’s right…free admission for the kids.

But there’s much more like bike, big wheel, and power wheel races during intermission. But that’s not all. How about over $3000 worth of new bikes that have been donated so far to be given away to these young fans at our family friendly, family owned racing facility.

On track you’ll see the NASCAR Late Models, Dave’s White Rock MISfitz, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits and the Bandoleros all in action. Bobby Wilberg (Late Models), Dave Edwards (MISfitz), and Jeremy Bredeson (Bandits) are your current point leaders with four feature events remaining on the 2019 schedule.

Adult admission is $14.00 / Whelen Heroes and Seniors $12.00 / Students 12-17 $8.00 / 11 and under are free. A “Family” ticket that includes up to two adults plus four students is just $30.00.

Matt Kenseth and ARCA Midwest Tour Return on August 16th

See the return of Matt Kenseth as he competes in the ARCA Midwest Tour Howie Lettow Classic 100 presented by Zimbrick Chevrolet on Friday, August 16th. Kenseth, the 1994 Madison champion, last raced here in 2014 when he picked up his 27th win at the track.

The ARCA Midwest Tour is making its second stop of the season at Madison after Bubba Pollard took home the win in the Joe Shear Classic back in May.

Also on track will be the third appearance of the year by the Midwest Truck Series along with the four cylinder Midwest Dash Series.

A VIP Meet and Greet Party will take place allowing fans the opportunity to attend a Q&A session with the 2003 NASCAR Cup Champion, get up to two items autographed and have a professional picture taken with Kenseth. The VIP Experience will include a custom ticket good for the VIP area and general admission seating, water and soft drinks as well as the autograph and photo opportunities listed above. A limited number of VIP Experience Passes are available for advance purchase at misracing.com/tickets for $108 each.

Adult general admission tickets for the Howie Lettow Classic are just $20, with Whelen Heroes and Senior tickets $18, students ages 12-17 are $15, ages 6-11 $5 with kids ages 5 and under admitted free. Take advantage of the MIS Family Ticket and get up to two adult admissions and up to four youth admissions ages 17 and under for $50. Spectator gates will open at 3:30pm, practice begins at 4pm with qualifying getting underway at 6:15pm.

Racing action includes the NASCAR Late Models, Dave’s White Rock MISfitz, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits, and this season’s second visit from the Central States Region Super Cups.
