Oregon, WI- Thus far in 2018, Robert Hansberry, Jr has been the man to beat on Friday nights at Madison International Speedway in the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman Division. Against a stacked field of Sportsman competitors during the May 25 Badgerland Challenge, Hansberry, the track record holder, completed the ‘Clean Sweep’, setting fast time for the evening and then winning all race events for the night in his familiar #7 Quest Industrial Mustang. Last Friday night, the four time and defending Track Champion mirrored his opening night success as he recorded another ‘Clean Sweep’ as well as his 20th career Sportsman win at ‘Wisconsin’s Fast Half Mile’.

Hansberry’s early season success prompted division sponsor Dave Grueneberg of Dave’s White Rock Bar to post a $300 bounty for Friday night June 22. Top Sportsman teams from across the region are invited to MIS to best Hansberry in Sportsman action. While in victory lane, Hansberry explained to the June 8 crowd that he was getting ready to move into a Late Model and would only be racing his Sportsman car on a limited schedule.

The way the bounty works, the Sportsman feature winner will pocket the $300 winner’s purse plus the $300 bounty as long as Hansberry is running on the lead lap at the end of the June 22 event. Additionally, if Hansberry bests his competitors and captures his third victory of 2018, he would pocket the $600 payday. In addition, MIS has arranged for complimentary 15 day NASCAR Licenses for visiting Sportsman drivers.

Pit Gates will open at 3:30pm with Practice at 5pm, Spectator Gates open at 6pm, Time Trials begin at 6:15pm with the First Race at 7:30pm on Friday June 22. Adult general admission tickets are $14, Whelen Heroes and Seniors are $12, Students (ages 12-17) $8, Kids (6-11) $5 with ages 5 and under admitted Free. Take advantage of MIS’ Family Ticket, up to two adult admissions and up to four youth (17 and under) admissions for just $30. The Sportsman division is ‘off’ this week as the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards comes to town Friday June 15 for the Herr’s Potato Chips 200.
