Oregon, WI- It is only fitting that Edgerton, Wisconsin’s Rich Bickle, Jr was the first to file his entry for the Friday Night May 31st ‘Capital Classic Twin 50’s’ at Madison International Speedway. Bickle, the 1985 and 1986 Capital Super Speedway Track Champion has recorded 18 career Super Late Model triumphs at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ which was once known as Capital in Bickle’s Championship years but has been called Madison International Speedway since it was reopened in 1992.

The Capital Classic marks the first visit to MIS for the ‘Alive for 5 Series’ which calls Dells Raceway Park home. In the season opening Alive for 5 ‘Icebreaker 100’ at DRP, Bickle finished third behind race winner Casey Johnson and Skylar Holzhausen. The former NASCAR standout followed that up with a runner-up finish last Sunday in the Joe Shear Classic at MIS, having many in the crowd commenting that Bickle is back, including himself. Post race he commented to Speed 51, “Everybody thought I was over the hill, but guess what? I’m going to kick their asses this year somewhere along the line.” Bickle’s most recent Super Late Model victory came in 2017 at MIS and the 5-time Snowball Derby Champion is amongst the favorites for the ‘Capital Classic Twin 50’s’.
