Beat the Heat at MIS this Friday Night with Misting Stations, Discount Ice Cream, Water, Beer and More

Oregon, WI- Spectators will have multiple ways to beat the heat this Friday Night July 19 at Madison International Speedway during Fink’s Paving of Mt. Horeb Kid’s Night. The family owned and operated race track has a variety of concession specials to help keep cool along with a 10-12 MPH breeze forecast to blow across the grandstands during double feature events for four divisions of racing at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’.

“We know it is going to be hot, it’s summer, we have raced in warm temperatures before including last June.” Stated Madison International Speedway co-owner Angie McKarns. “We put our heads together and have come up with some great concession specials for Friday night and Austin has two misting stations ready to go for tomorrow night.” The fan favorite misting stations can be found along the fence line by the playground and directly behind the donut stand.

There will be ice cold bottled water, Sunny D and Hawaiiann Punch for just a dollar, fifty cent popsicles and mini-ice cream sandwiches as well as one dollar novelty ice cream treats available along the main concourse while supplies last. Additionally, the MIS Meal Deal this week is a Klement’s Hot Dog, choice of soft drink and either chips or pasta salad for five dollars.

Not to be outdone, MIS co-owner Gregg McKarns added a special for his favorite beer, Busch Light. While the Heat Index is over 100 degrees, 12 ounce cans of Busch Light will be just $2 and giant 25 ounce cans of Busch Light will be $3.

Pit gates open this Friday night at 3:30pm with practice getting underway at 5pm. Spectator gates open at 6pm, qualifying begins at 6:15pm with the first race at 7:30pm. Racing action includes the NASCAR Late Models and Dave’s White Rock MISfitz on the half mile with the Pellitteri Waste System Bandits and Bandoleros taking on the Ring of Fire. Kids ages 11 and under will be invited onto the track for the Kid’s Candy Scramble between double features for all four division during Fink’s Paving of Mt. Horeb Kid’s Night. Adult general admission tickets are $14, Whelen Heroes and Seniors are $12, Students ages 12-17 are $8 with ages 11 and under admitted free.
