Oregon, WI- The unfinished portion of the Badgerland Challenge will now be run on Friday Night August 5 at Madison International Speedway, part of the Matco Tools Fan Autograph Night. The Club LaMark NASCAR Late Model, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandit and Roto Rooter 6shooter features will roll off as they were set to take to the track last Friday night June 10 before severe weather moved into the area. Also on the card will be a full program for the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman including the R.A. Heating & Air Conditioning Dash, Heat Races and 20 lap feature on ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’. As an added bonus, Doug Rose and his Green Mamba Jet Car will perform the famous Meltdown.
At the completion of Sportsman Time Trials, fans will be invited onto the track for the fan autograph session prior to the start of racing, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a NASCAR Whelen All-American Collector’s Autograph Card. Spectator Gates open at 6 with Sportsman qualifying at 6:15, racing action will begin at 7:30pm. Those with rainchecks from the June 10 event are welcome to save them to use on August 5 or are able to use the value of their June 10 ticket towards the purchase of any ticket this season on raceday at the Speedway Ticket Booth.
Additional Late Models may be added to the back of the field only if those originally set to participate are unable to fill the feature field as the full field was set. Bandit and 6shooter features can have additional cars added to the tail of their make-up features as they were not full fields. 6shooters will have heat races added in addition to their make-up feature. Those with pit passes may exchange them for any identically priced event or save them for the rescheduled August 5 event. Late Model tires will be remarked with again a maximum of two new tires allowed, this will allow teams to utilize the tires from June 10 in a reasonable fashion.
The Badgerland Challenge will next take place at Slinger Super Speedway on Sunday July 17 before returning to Madison August 5. The Championship round of the three race contest between the Southern Wisconsin ovals will unfold on Saturday night August 20 at Jefferson Speedway.
