ASA Midwest Tour Set For Two Dates at Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile

Oregon, WI – The 19th season of ASA Midwest Tour will encompass 10 race dates in five different States in 2025. The schedule will be a little familiar, but with some date adjustments along with a return to a track after a 10-year hiatus.

The 18th running of the Joe Shear Classic 200 will kick off season on Sunday, May 4th at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin. Last year, Ty Majeski picked up his third victory in the event. The five-time series champion recently won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series title.

What has become a Memorial Day Weekend tradition, the Tour will make its annual visit to Wisconsin’s Action Track, Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The quarter-mile facility has provided some side-by-side action for many decades and this event has become a special attraction for active and retired military service members in the Salute the Troops 100.

On Saturday, June 21st, the Stars & Cars of the ASA Midwest Tour will head north the upper peninsula of Michigan for a triumphant return to Norway Speedway in Norway, Michigan. The challenging track located at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds will feature a great matchup of the weekly competitors and the best of the Midwest Tour. Some of the past ASAMT winners include Majeski, Nathan Haseleu, and Jamie Iverson.

The month of July is where you will see a couple of changes to two popular Midwest Tour events.

On Saturday, July 12th, the ASAMT will make its annual visit to one of two asphalt tracks in Iowa competing at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Gabe Sommers won the last two races at the half-mile oval en route to his two Midwest Tour titles.

Madison International Speedway will host its second ASAMT event on Friday, July 25th with the Howie Lettow Memorial 100. Last year, Dalton Zehr held off Gabe Sommers and Casey Johnson to pick up his first Lettow victory, honoring the late famous short track crew chief. The first Tuesday in August is on August 5th. Mark that date on your calendar to be at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisconsin for the annual Gandrud Auto Group 250, the longest race on the schedule. Last year, fans saw one of the more competitive races that saw several lead changes in the closing laps with Ty Majeski coming out with his fifth victory.

Another great traditional event on the ASAMT schedule takes place on Saturday, August 16th with the Wayne Carter Classic 100 at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois. The 2024 event was rained out but in 2023, Paul Shafer Jr. picked a big victory in front of his fans, just like he did in 2020. Austin Nason picked up the victory in 2022.

The Jim Sauter Classic 200 is quickly becoming one of the Midwest’s marquee events over the Labor Day weekend. The 2025 event will take place on Saturday, August 30th at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Max Kahler picked up his first ASAMT victory in 2024 holding off a late challenge from Andrew Morrissey for the big win and a big pay day.

Elko Speedway in Elko, Minnesota will welcome back the ASA Midwest Tour on Saturday, September 20th with the Thunderstruck 93 event. The ASAMT made a huge return this past season with Justin Mondeik and Levon Van Der Geest putting on a show for the fans, with Mondeik picking up the victory.

The 2025 season will wrap up as it traditionally does on Sunday, October 5th as the grand finale to the four-day 56th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisconsin. Ty Majeski put himself in elite company by winning his fourth Fest title while Gabe Sommers defended his ASAMT championship. Many of the competitors will be racing all four nights from October 2-5, 2025.
