A new traveling stock car series in the Midwest, the 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour will visit Madison International Speedway twice in 2022. “The weekly car counts of the of the cost effective late model featuring a Chevrolet Performance 602 crate engine have grown to the point where it’s time to put the show on the road”, said UMA President Jerry Auby.
The traditional race fan and drivers alike have embraced the Outlaw Bodied cars with open arms, it is the fastest growing division in the Midwest with good car counts, prize money and racing excitement and will soon be a staple in the weekly short track divisions. The Outlaw style car itself has attracted drivers of all ages from teens just starting out to experienced veterans like Tom Carlson, Brian Johnson Sr., Bobby WIlberg, Pete Moore, Dennis Prunty and more.
The New Tour will kick off in 2022 with six races starting with the Icebreaker 100 at Dells Raceway Park on April 10th, followed by the Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway on May 1st. and then onto a pair of dates at the world’s fastest quarter mile Slinger Super Speedway on May 22nd and July 31st then back to Madison International Speedway on August 26th for the Howie Lettow Classic with the 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour Champion being crowned at Dells Raceway Park at the Falloween 150 on October 22nd.
