Oregon, WI- The 2018 Super Late Model Triple Crown Challenge dates for Madison International Speedway were announced earlier today. Friday Night June 1 will play host to round number one, as top Super Late Model competitors from at least four states are expected to battle on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile. Round 2 will be contested on Friday July 6 and ‘The Howie 50’ will determine the Triple Crown Champion, Friday Night August 24.
“Last season was great, three winners in three memorable Triple Crown events. Interest continues to build for 2018 and we are looking forward to having the region’s top Super Late Model stars here on Friday nights.” Stated Speedway co-owner Gregg McKarns. The Triple Crown will follow ARCA Midwest Tour Rules, allowing for greater ease for teams wanting to compete. Additionally, the 50 lap features will be contested on the Hoosier 3035 and 3045 compound this upcoming season. Paying $1,500 to win and $500 to start with no car entry fee, the Triple Crown continues to be a favorite for teams and fans alike. A $3,000 point fund spread across the top five in championship points also returns for 2018.
Pit gates will open at 3:30pm each night with practice at 5pm and time trials at 6:15pm. Racing is slated to begin at 7:30pm for each Triple Crown event. The 2018 season will begin on Sunday afternoon May 6 when the ARCA Midwest Tour ‘Stars and Cars’ invade Madison for the Joe Shear Classic 200 presented by SCAG Power Equipment.
