Season Championship Night is this Friday

by Austin Wells

The 2014 racing season at Madison International Speedway goes out with a bang tonight with six divisions in action…seven features…bikes for the kids…and much more are all on tap.

It’s going to be a big night with the Super Late Models, Club LaMark Late Models, American Ethanol Super Trucks, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Roto Rooter Legends, and Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits all crowning champions.  An overall winner will also be determined in the B and B Lawn Care Dash.

Due to the rain on Saturday night, the Super Trucks will be running Twin 30 lap features.  The trucks will be competing for a higher purse and prize money and points will be determined by combined finish in the two races.  The Super Late Models will be running for $1200 to win (4 tire race) with the Late Models battling it out for $1000 to win.

Current point leaders are Dave Feiler (Super Late Models), Dale Nottestad (Late Models), Blake Brown (Super Trucks), Ryan Goldade (Sportsman), Cory Talaska (Legends), and Dan Snyder (Bandits).  Feiler has a 49-47 lead over Bobby Kendall in the B and B Lawn Care Dash.

The closest point races are in the Club LaMark Late Models where Nottestad has a 12 point lead over Casey Johnson (208-196) with Jon Reynolds Jr. just fourteen points behind the leader.  Goldade has a twenty-five point advantage over Kody Hubred in the hotly contested points race in the Sportsman division.

The Quest Industrial Turn Four Kids’ Club will also be giving away bikes donated by the race teams.  Teams interested in participating should contact Chuck West (608.225.9166).

Additional practice time is available from 1:00 – 4:00 PM for $20.00.  Otherwise pit gates will open at 3:30 with practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:00, and racing at 7:30.  Adult admission is $15.00 with Students / Seniors at $13.00 and Kids 11 and under free.  Fans can save $3.00 on admission with their ticket stub from the ARCA race.
