It’s a Big Night of Racing at MIS this Friday as Late Models Return

Salute to Agriculture Night this Friday

It’s Salute to Agriculture Night this Friday night at Madison International Speedway.  Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel will be joining us along with the Wisconsin Corn Growers and United Wisconsin Grain Producers.  There will be a corn roast located next to the beer stand, as well as free admission to 4H and FFA members.

Five divisions will take to the track this Friday night at Madison International Speedway with the Club LaMark Late Models making their second appearance of the season. The American Ethanol Super Trucks, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Roto Rooter Legends, and Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits will also be in action.

There will also be excitement for the kids when Wayne Ace Bus and Limo Service provides bus rides around Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile at intermission.  The Quest Industrial Turn Four Kids’ Club will also have t-shirts available at the club house.

The Late Model race will pay $1000 to win / $250 to start and is the second of three events scheduled at Madison this season.  Dale Nottestad of Cambridge won the June 6th race holding off Bobby Wilberg of Beloit, Casey Johnson of Edgerton, Shane Morrissey of Cuba City, and Jon Reynolds Jr. of Rockford, Illinois.  Twenty-eight late models were on hand for the June race and twenty were here on August 1st before the rains came.

Blake Brown of Platteville has increased his lead in the point race in the American Ethanol Super Trucks.  He now has a 649-538 lead over Jerry Wood of Madison with three events remaining on the schedule.  Camden Murphy of Itasca, Illinois, Kevin Knuese of Waukesha, and Mike Corvo of Park Ridge, Illinois, round out the top five.

The Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits will be competing for big money on Friday night with a $500 to win / $100 to start feature on tap.  Bandits from throughout the region are expected to come to MIS to battle it out on the “Ring of Fire.”  Dan Snyder of Stoughton is the current point leader thanks to five feature wins this season.  Brandon DeLacy and Jason Coker are second and third respectively.

After his feature win last week, Ryan Goldade of Edgerton is the current point leader for the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman. Kody Hubred of Utica and Will Rece of Stoughton are chasing Goldade for the championship.

Cory Talaska of Campbellsport is hoping to repeat his track championship in the Roto Rooter Legends as he holds a 662-595 advantage over Aaron Moyer of Malone.  Chris Lishamer of Elgin, Illinois, is in third with 583 points.  Talaska and Moyer are the only two feature winners in the division this season.

Additional practice will be available from 1:00 – 4:00 on Friday otherwise pit gates open at 3:30 with practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:00, opening ceremonies at 7:15 and racing at 7:30.  Adult admission is $12.00 with Seniors / Students at $10.00 and kids eleven and under free.
