Late Models Return to Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile this Friday Night

Five divisions will take to the track this Friday night at Madison International Speedway with the Club LaMark Late Models making their second appearance of the season.  The American Ethanol Super Trucks, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Roto Rooter Legends, and Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits will also be in action.  There will also be many activities for the kids including bus rides around Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile during intermission.

The Late Model race will pay $1000 to win / $250 to start and is the second of three events scheduled at Madison this season.  Dale Nottestad of Cambridge won the June 6th race holding off Bobby Wilberg of Beloit, Casey Johnson of Edgerton, Shane Morrissey of Cuba City, and Jon Reynolds Jr. of Rockford, Illinois.  Twenty-eight late models were on hand for the June race.

Blake Brown of Platteville has increased his lead in the points race in the American Ethanol Super Trucks.  He now has a 649-538 lead over Jerry Wood of Madison with three events remaining on the schedule.  Camden Murphy of Itasca, Illinois, Kevin Knuese of Waukesha, and Mike Corvo of Park Ridge, Illinois, round out the top five.

The Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits will be competing for big money on Friday night with a $500 to win / $100 to start feature on tap.  Bandits from throughout the region are expected to come to MIS to battle it out on the “Ring of Fire.”  Dan Snyder of Stoughton leads the point standings in the division with 770 points with Brandon DeLacy of Stoughton holding on to second place followed by Jason Coker of Madison in third.

Kody Hubred of Utica shows the way in the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman championship battle with 909 points.  Ryan Goldade of Edgerton (898) and Will Rece of Stoughton (886) are close behind in what will most certainly go down to the final race on August 29th before we know the champion.  Hubred leads all drivers at Madison with five feature wins in 2014.

Cory Talaska of Campbellsport is hoping to repeat his track championship in the Roto Rooter Legends as he holds a 662-595 advantage over Aaron Moyer of Malone.  Chris Lishamer of Elgin, Illinois, is in third with 583 points.  Talaska and Moyer are the only two feature winners in the division this season.

The Quest Industrial Turn Four Kids’ Club also has many activities planned for the young fans including bus rides during intermission and jobs night where kids will have an opportunity to flag a race and perform other duties around the track.

Pit gates open at 3:30 with practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:00, opening ceremonies at 7:15 and racing at 7:30.  Adult admission is $12.00 with Seniors / Students at $10.00 and kids eleven and under free.
