It’s Fan and Driver Appreciation Night at Madison International Speedway this Friday with an exciting racing program with five divisions in action plus great deals for the fans including the return of Buck Night as part of Fan / Driver Appreciation Night.
American Ethanol has posted a $500 bonus for the NASCAR Late Model feature winner this Friday night, boosting the winner’s share to $1,000. Additionally the American Ethanol SuperTruck Series returns to Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile. They will be contesting Twin 20 lap features, which each pay $400 to win with a $200 bonus to the top overall finisher. Each race will pay $125 to start, guaranteed by the track. Fast qualifier for the American Ethanol Super Trucks will receive a gas grill.
Also in action will be the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits, and the Bandoleros. The Sportsman and Bandits are down to just two nights of point racing for the season.
A real treat for the fans is the return of Buck Night with $1 concessions and $2 beer with some restrictions. Fans are invited into the pits following the racing program for a post race party including a corn roast.
Pit gates open at 3:30 followed by practice at 5:00, qualifying at 6:15, and racing at 7:30. Adult admission is $12.00 / Whelen Heroes and Seniors are $10.00 / Students 12-17 are $8..00 / Kids 6-11 are $5.00 with kids 5 and under free. Take advantage of the special family pricing package of just $30.00 which includes two adults and up to four students / children.
Oregon residents with proof of residency will pay just $5.00 for grandstand admission.
Friday Night Review
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with us this past Friday night forcing a difficult decision to cancel the racing program.
The Super Late Model Triple Crown Challenge title for 2016 will go to Casey Johnson who edged Jeremy Miller and Austin Nason. Johnson finished with 213 points just nine ahead of Miller and eleven in front of Nason.
Points Update
Club LaMark NASCAR Late Models: It was a tough night for those in the top four in the points going into last Friday’s race. Bobby Wilberg is on top of the charts with 942 points while Zack Riddle is second with 843. John Beale is in third with 791 followed by Jon Reynolds Jr. (700) and John Baumeister Jr. (682). Matt Lundberg is the top rookie in the division.
Dave’s White Rock Sportsman: Robert Hansberry Jr. is still the leader with 1229 points followed by Steve Anderson at 1103 points. Mike Taylor (963), Ryan Goldade (923), and Trevor Robinson (853) complete the top five. Robinson leads Gary Hellenbrand for Rookie of the Year honors.
Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits: Brandon DeLacy continues to lead the points race with 823 while Nick Schmidt moved into second with 732 points. Steve Dickson is in third with 716 while James Junget (665) and Lyle Phillips (632) round out the top five. Sam Messel is the leading rookie in the division.
Wilberg, Hansberry Jr., and DeLacy are also the leaders in the RA Heating and Air Conditioning Dash Series.
Each division has three features remaining on their schedule…weather permitting.
Midwest Stock Car Association at Madison
Enduro style racing comes to Madison on August 27th and September 24th for two afternoon events. Pit passes are $20 / Grandstand admission is just $5. Pits open at 10:30 AM with racing at 1:00 PM. This is for eight cylinder cars on the half-mile for 250 laps following the former Midwest Enduro Series rulebook with some exceptions. Proceeds from the races will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital thanks to Midwest Stock Car Association.
