Road Destruction….. Construction Update

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recently announced the closure of less than a half mile of Highway 138 at Highway 51 for the remainder of our race season. Here are some tips on the best route to get to Madison International Speedway for the remainder of the 2016 season, see you at the races.

“Uncle Dave’s Surefire Ways To Get to MIS”

From I-90/I-39: Take Exit 147, Highway N (Cottage Grove/Stoughton), turn south on N for 4 miles, turn right (west) on Highway B for 2.5 miles, left (south) on Highway 51 for approx. half a mile, turn right (west) on Rutland/Dunn Townline Road for 1 mile, then left (south) on Starr School Road for 1 mile.  This will bring you to Highway 138, turn right (west) and go 3 miles to Sunrise Road, look for the Madison International Speedway sign on south side of road at top of the hill, turn left (south) on Sunrise Road, travel .8 miles to MIS.

From Stoughton: Either follow the directions above for ‘From I-90/I-39 from the point of turning west on Rutland/Dunn Townline Road or take these easy steps: When traveling on Highway 51, turn south on Highway 138 (S Van Buren St) and go one mile, turn right (west) on County Road A, stay on A for approx. 5.5 miles to Flint Road, turn right (north) on Flint Road for half a mile, turn left (west) on Oak Hill Road, you are now directly behind the speedway, take the next right which is Sunrise Road, the main entrance will be on your right.

From Madison 12/18: Take Exit 261 (Park St/Highway 14), head south on Highway 14 for approx. 10 miles to Oak Hill Road (look for the green MIS Directional Sign), turn left (east) for one mile to Sunrise Road, turn left (north), main entrance will be on the right.

From Janesville/Evansville and areas south: Continue on Highway 14 north (3.6 miles past the Brooklyn/Highway 92 turnoff) to Oak Hill Road (look for green MIS Directional Signage), turn right (east) for one mile to Sunrise Road, turn left (north), main entrance will be on the right.  This route is ‘same’ as ‘normal’.
