Kids’ Night is this Friday at MIS

Story Image

All children eleven and under will be admitted free this Friday as part of Kids’ Night at Madison International Speedway. There will be many activities for the kids throughout the night including Kids’ Club prize giveaways and more.

The racing action will take on a slightly different look this week with the return of the Great Northern Sportsman Series who will be racing twin features. The Midwest Dash Series for four cylinders cars is back on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile while the Hobby Stox make an appearance on the Ring of Fire. It’s been many years since the “big” cars were on the small track. The entry level 6Shooters will also be in action.

There will also be Kids’ Bike Races…kids need to provide their own bikes and bike helmets are required.

Practice begins at 5:00 with qualifying at 6:20 and racing at 7:30.

Friday Night Rewind

Congratulations to our feature winners this past Friday who included Zack Riddle in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Models, Dan Snyder in the Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits, Derek Kraus and Kevin Knuese in the American Ethanol Super Trucks, and Aaron Moyer in the Legends.

The points chase in the late models took a turn on Friday as Jeremy Miller’s night ended early due to mechanical issues and Dale Nottestad was involved in an incident on lap 16 of the feature. As a result of his win, Riddle now has the points lead.

A big thank you to all who made the Hall of Fame possible at Madison. A special thanks to Father Dale Grubba for making the trip down from Princeton to emcee the event.

What an impressive first class: John Ziegler, Tom Reffner, Sam Bartus, Dick Trickle, and Joe Shear.
