It’s Kids’ Night this Friday at MIS

This Friday night is Kids’ Night at Madison International Speedway where kids eleven and under will be admitted free. The Quest Industrial Turn Four Kids’ Club will be having special events and drawings during the night along with a candy scramble during intermission.

Four divisions of racing will be in action with the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Models, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits, and the debut of the Roto Rooter Six Shooters.

Pit gates open at 3:30 with practice at 5:00, qualifying at 6:30, and racing at 7:30.

Congratulations to Jeremy Miller, Ryan Goldade, and Brandon DeLacy for picking up feature wins this past Friday night. Rex Rossier was the winner in the visiting Vintage cars.

The Championship Chase is On at MIS

After two weeks of Friday night NASCAR action, the point standings are starting to take shape.

Late Models: In the very competitive NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model division multi-time track champion Jeremy Miller of Rockford, Illinois, has a 220-210 advantage over defending champion Dale Nottestad. Zack Riddle is third with 194 points followed by Kevin Knuese with 187 points and Ryan Goldade with 172 points.

In the First Supply Dash Miller leads with 11 points followed by Riddle with 10 points, Rusty Hansen and Bobby Wilberg with 5 points, and Goldade with 4 points.

Sportsman: Thanks to back to back feature wins, defending champion Ryan Goldade of Edgerton, Wisconsin, shows the way in the Sportsman standings with 237 points followed by past champion Robert Hansberry with 217 points. Rounding out the top five are Matt Lundberg (182), Johnny Robinson II (181) and Mike Taylor (170).

Hansberry leads the First Supply Dash standings with 11 points followed by Goldade with 10 points, Lundberg with 9 points, rookie Steve Anderson and Mike Taylor with 5 points each.

Bandits: Brandon DeLacy has a 237-232 lead over fellow Stoughton driver and defending champion Dan Snyder. Nick Schmidt of Watertown is third with 205 points followed by David Schmidt of Cudahy with 188 points and Steve Dickson of Rockton, Illinois, with 171 points.

Nick Schmidt is the leader in the First Supply Dash standings with 11 points followed by DeLacy and Snyder with 8 points each, Dave Schmidt with 6 points, and Steve Dickson with 5 points.

Double Header Weekend Set for June 5th and 6th

It will be a double header of action at MIS on Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th with racing on Friday and tractor / truck pulling on Saturday.

The Colony Brands Super Late Model Triple Crown Challenge is the featured event on June 5th with the first of their three race series. The top super late model drivers from throughout the region will be here to do battle. Also on the schedule will be the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman and the visiting Vores Touring Series featuring the fastest four cylinder cars in the Midwest racing on the half-mile.

This will be the fourth year of the Triple Crown at MIS with previous winners Nathan Haseleu (2012), Casey Johnson (2013), and Chris Wimmer (2014). It’s guaranteed to be a big show with drivers from several states expected to compete in the 50 lap event.

There will be an open practice on Thursday, June 4th starting at 5:00 PM.

The Dave’s White Rock Tractor / Truck pull is slated for 6:00 PM on June 6th with the South Central Tractor Pullers, Badger Truck Pullers, and Tri County Mini-Rods all in action. Plus there will be a street legal truck pull paying $500 to the winner. Anyone who drives their pick up truck to the track is eligible (some restrictions apply).
